This model was sent to me by a model agency to start to put together a portfolio. She was very bright and had a well-paid job but was responding to the encouragement from family and friends to give modelling a go. Like so many models who follow this path, the agency had given too little advice or information about the modelling profession. Although there have been some relaxation in the basic requirements, it still remains true that it is very difficult for women under 5’9’ to succeed as fashion models. This model was 5’6”. Right from the start this model understood the constraints her height and colour imposed on her but projected a confident ‘glamour’ image and was content with the obvious progression to go topless. At her second session she went nude and although she didn’t want to give up her job, her love of modelling motivated her to become a mentor to many other ‘first timers’.
